I had the wheels off of my 72' Dart Swinger for clean up and paint. When the tires were remounted I put slightly larger ones (225/70R14) on the rear, the fronts were the same as before (205's). Now, to keep the car straight down the road the steering wheel has a 15-20 degree turn on it. No steering componts were messed with and the only suspension change was new KYB's all round. What should I be checking for to get my wheel to steer straight again? |

Did the front tires get swapped from side to side by chance? When I was working for a front end shop, we would often get cars come in with a left or right pull. Sometimes the alignment specs were correct but the pull was still there. Most of the time it was what we called "radial pull". You could swap the front tires side to side and it would go away. If your wheel is cocked because of compensating for a pull, I would check that. Also check to see if your tire pressure is correct side to side, and that there is no uneven wear patterns on either tire. Good luck Jesse |
