I have been a A-body person for years but have lately come across a 1963 Dodge Custom 880. I am having plenty of trouble finding the suspension parts for it and not a single interior part found either. Moog suspension lists many models but they all say (excluding 880). I was wondering what is the problem with this car why it is diffrent from all the others. I have many a-body susp parts sitting around and thinking the 73+ a-body UCA might fit this car like it does so many others, but I see the shocks mount inside level with the original uca. anybody have experience with these 880s or know someone who does? its got a 383. 83,000 miles. very clean. dome_rbc@yahoo.com |

The Dodge 880 was made so that Dodge could have a full size car. Sales where taking a beating because Dodge and Plymouth made their full size cars comperable to midsize cars of the other makes. This is because compacts where the hot thing in the early '60's, and Chrysler thought it would be a lasting trend. They where wrong. So, Dodge took the '62 Chrysler body, the same from the fire wall back, and added its own front end sheet metal to get the 880. So, if you can find parts for a '62 Chrysler, you can get parts for the Dodge. Don't know about the interior, though it my be close to a Chrysler. Rembember, Chrysler was redesigned for the '63 model year. |
