How the heck do the seat belts attached to the ceiling above the passenger and drivers side windows work? They look like they could be shoulder belts for the front seats, but they seem to short and then you couldn't use the lap belt. If they are meant for the rear seats, then they are mounted way too far forward to be effective. I like to be safe when I drive, but besides looking neat, I can't figure out how to use them properly...

They clip to a 2nd attach point on the lap belt and they extend just like other belts, but are a nuisance to re-adjust so they can be stored against the headliner. I seldom used the shoulder belts on the two cars I owned that had that setup.

Thanks, I'll have to take a closer look at my lap belts. I think they may have been pirated from another car without the 2nd attachmnet point...

Dig between your seat cushions. You will find another tongue buried in there that the shoulder strap will clip onto. If not, look on the floor in the rear passenger compartment under the front seat. It is anchored to the floor.
