hello sl6 sages- this is probably a job for duster idiot or dr. dougmo or superman. we get these monsoon rainstorms here in fla worse than in nj- like in the mekong delta in nam. anyway my 76 feather duster leaks like hell through apparently the wiper arm pivots when it rains. i understand this was a common problem until the f body aspens came along with a different design. i also recall from the old slantsix club magazine that somebody had a perfect fix for this- a n after market kind of pivot i believe. does anybody have knowledge of this fix or part source. i dont know if the aspen pivots will work in the duster. please advise before my floors rust out . i used to put those rubber disks from the older slant six spark plug wires under the wiper arm which slowed the leak down a little.thanks tons paladin |

don't know about the cure all fix, but I replace mine with the stock bushings on the outer and on the inner I used a cellular foam gasket with some light goop to keep it in place while tightening down the wiper arm pivots to the firewall. Sadly I don't get leaks from those anymore, but now during monsoon season here in 9 months wet Oregon my windsheild gasket starts to 'act up'...LOL ??? -D.Idiot |

Are you talking about the "Wiper Pivot Water Seal Kit" from Schumacher Creative Services? http://engine-swaps.com/ -Gregor |

I used plumbers putty around the shafts ans it hasn't leaked since. I will eventually put proper gaskets on it when I do the body work. Mike |
