any body ever used a g-tech performance meter? i have the chance to get the original one for pretty cheap and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with one and what they thought about it. i thought it might be something fun to play with and give some sort of idea of the performance gains ill get as i improve my slant.

I have one of the 'deluxe' models...(you can hook it to a computer and dowload your runs and see your 'curves'...)

As a local drag guy put it to me:

"It's cheaper than a day at the drags, as long as the cops don't catch you...it's fairly accurate, about .1 off an actual timeslip...and it can help you dyno tune your car without breaking the bank...."

I consider it to be a useful tool, if the price is right and it works, it's a cool 'toy' to have...

I agree with the "as long as the cops don't catch you" statement.
Where I live, there is never a good place to come to a full stop, set the G-Tech, then "bang-off" a 1/4 mile "pass".
I can use the G-Tech when tuning slower cars on the street but for anything half way fast, you got to take the car to the track.

theres plenty of room for a quarter mile pass where i live in rural texas. i dont think i have to worry about my car even being halfway fast-yet. i think itll be something fun to have when i get it especially since the nearest track is in ennis and its a good 2 or 2.5 hour drive from my house.
