Ok, here it is... My '72 Swinger's indicator lamps (the pair on the quarter panels / hood) for the turn signals are both burned out. I removed one bulb, it appears to be a type 330? The only place that said they had them wanted more than $15 EACH for them. I can get an entire working indicator for that, so obviously that's a NO. I am looking for any information on where to get the bulbs, or a crossover bulb number. |

WW Granger has them. They sell them in a box of ten. Got some last year. Think the price was about $12.00 per box. They are listed in their catalog as aircraft inst. lites. |

Excellent, I Will order a box ASAP. I was (and still am to some degree) considering taping out the lens and installing LEDs instead of replacing the bulbs. It'd definitely cure them burning out again before my 10 year old is old enough to vote! |

Are those the 'fender mounted' turn signal? The one's that are known as 'pedestrian gun sights?' The later cars (my '76 included) uses 168's for those... got a 'pic'? -D.Idiot |

Donno if this suggestion is too late or not, but my employer, Candlepower, stocks these bulbs in a long-lasting design with a corrosionproof nickel-plated base that's better than the original plain brass base. Cost is "cheap per bulb" and they are sold by the ten pack, and there is no minimum order. Email tech@candlepower.ca for more info. |

Hey, The suggestion is never too late. I have found a couple for the moment @ $1.34 from the local Grainger warehouse (about a mile from my house!). They look identical to the originals but the actual glass part of the bulb is a tad smaller?! If I do anything else it will be to replace them entirely with White or Blue LEDS, which will likely last a lifetime. |

Do not use white or blue (!!!) LEDs. If you use LEDs at all, use yellow/amber ones -- they are the 2nd most efficient type, right after red. |

I want to use white or blue because they will go with the car's eventual color scheme. I am aware of the efficiency of the LEDs i am intending to use. I am considering using some mil-spec Nichia True blues, which come rated @ 14v (IE: I don't need to use any resistors to prevent damage)... They are not as efficient as other emmiters of the red/amber, but are plenty bright . My intended effect would be similar to a pair of "blue dot" tail-lights, but on the "Gun Sights" as DI so humerously put it. A Great site on LEDs is available at: http://ledmuseum.home.att.net/ |

I'd generally agree... I want to paint my swing a pearl silver (moon mist?), with slightly darker silver flames on the sides. I thought a flash of blue or near-white would look pretty good. But yea, I have seen a lot of Civics with that kind of exterior bling. |
