When I got my clifford headers a while back, it came with the gaskets, rings and 2 pieces of 2" tubing ( As a beginning for the pipes) Can't think of what to call these pieces,.. But like I said, they are crimped to 2" outlet,.. What to do if I plan on using a dual 2.25" setup? Use these pieces and go from there with the 2.25" or search for pieces that are 2.25",.. does it matter, and why? (Finally found someone that is willing to weld my dual exhaust for me, cheap) |

I would not use the 2" collector. It will cause a "bottle neck" even if you put 2.25 after it. If you're getting your exhaust done at a shop, they should have the collectors you need. My place made them up 'cause one of the pipes needs to take a drastic turn down right away because of the "Z" bar (I have a 4 speed). Good luck!

I think thats standard, because for a 2.25" pipe you need a slightly smaller collecter so the pipe fits over it. You wouldn't want to use a slightly bigger collector because you'll have gasket sealing issues at the flange surface - it would be too big for the header. Compare the size of the flange surface, where the header meets the collector. As long as that matches up you should be fine. I wouldn't be worried about any restriction through the collector, it would be too small to be significant. |

I think 2X2.25 is too much for almost any Slant buildup. 2X2" works very well, is easier for clearance, and won't condense too much water in the system. Lou |

Thanks, Ok, I'll go with 2" pipes then, all the way to the mufflers (2x Dynomax super turbo 2.25" inlet/outlet) and after the mufflers 2.25". Dart270, I think Clifford is with you on that, otherwise they would have provided 2.25" collectors,... Ok, I can live with that. Sixty4dartgt, Pierre & Dart270; Thanks again! |

Those are nice mufflers, IMHO. I would recommend 2" after the mufflers too, to cut down on a lot of condensation in the back end of the exhaust. Just nit picking... Lou |

I got my clifford shorty headers with all 2.25", both collectors into a Y into a dynomax superturbo. I was going to do 3" but the guy I took it to said 3" pipe would make for very little clearence to the body over the axle so I stuck with 2.25". The sound is a bit more agressive then stock, but not by much. Before you put the headers on the engine, check with a straightedge that the ports are flush. Mine started to leak between #1 and #2 a little, and was told by clifford to cut the bar at the top of the ports that connects all 3 together. I did that and all was well.... just a heads up. |

I see you have a '65 Dart. If you have a manaul tranny, I second the 2". There isn't enough space unless you go with a mini starter and a hydrualic throw out bearing. I have Clifford+2"+Walker super turbo and the sound is great. Not too loud on the parkway. |

i'd go into a 2.5" single pipe, single muffler, less bends and exhaust work, less weight |

I'm gonna go with 2x 2" all the way to the muffler, 2" over the axle and 2.25 out back, for looks. (Maybe 2"pipe or flexpipe over the axle, sat in a 69 Dart yesterday that used a long piece of flexpipe and he said it worked great) |
