 Post subject: dist govnor quick q

hey there

I have a dist govnor stamped 15L and the slots are radial instead of kinda slanted.

need help! to figure out if its gonna behave like 15R (30 deg total mech) or what?

All distributors are stamped in dist (cam) degrees, so double that for crank degrees. That's a lot of mech advance.

I tend to run less mech advance and more vac advance for best economy, driveability and power. More mech advance is good for idle emissions, but that's about it AFAIK.

i dunno why all aftermarket dist have those 15R govnors...

even down here in argentina, where all aftermarket and reposition parts for distributers came and comes from the states, all I can get for a /6 dist are at least 11.5 if you really have luck.

You can easily decrease the travel by welding or epoxying some material into the slots that the advance weight pins ride in.
