Can i swap the enginge out from an automatic scamp on to my manual 62 with out needing a bell house adaptor? Does any boby need a scamp for parts??- |

The size of the flange on the end of the crank, got larger in 1968. To use a engine 1968 or later in a 1962 car/trans will require a flywheel from a 68 or later engine. Also the hole in the end of the crank, may not be finished for a pilot bearing, however there is a special pilot bearing available. You can use the 62 bellhousing, and clutch. Another solution, is to take the 62 flywheel to a machine shop, and have the center hole opened up to fit the late crank. |
