All of the vacum lines on my uncles D-150 have oil in them. One came unhooked and dripped oil all over the heat shield. It is the vacum line that goes to the choke. All of them are saturated. Why? |

before I rebuilt my slant, I've been having this very same issue. Oil almost everywhere (and oil consumption, do you get that?) when I yanked the thing appart, I had no compression rings at all, so I guess that all that oil was from too much blowby circulating thru the PCV hoses... |

It generally doesn't burn oil until you put it under a heavy load. It has over 100,000 miles on it and it is getting weaker & weaker. I have a feeling that the compression rings are gone and all that is left is the oil ring. I does'nt smoke any, though. |

willn't smoke if you have auto tranny... generally the smoke thru ex occurs when you drop the gas pedal for shifting on a manual trans car. maybe you need some new comp rings (and full set of gaskets and everything) good luck! Juan |

I agree with you on the piston rings. However, there is no use in doing anything to the slant since I will be putting a 318 in the truck some time next year. I will probably do a buildup on the slant and put it in my car when its engine wears out. |
