i got dyno 2000 for my computer and was playing around with it if any one wants to get an idea on what they are pushing they could ask i will need the specs for you engine |

Just as an FYI, the program runs good for most V-8 applications. I already have found that with smaller engines like the 225, the 'map' kind of goes 'generic' with cam and compression changes and won't reflect any true 'real world' data... currently it values my Hyperpak'ed 225 slant with a 600 cfm holley and a comp cam 252 with 9.22:1 compression at 180 flywheel HP, and about 240 ft/lbs of torque... the hyperpak makes more torque in the mid range than the program can ever think about... and actually just changing the cam to something 'better' only gains a few HP and a handful of torque..... So 'play' with it, and use it as a guide, but don't be surprised if the actual dyno results fall short of the actual results....( the dyno2000 tells me the difference between a comp cam Xtreme Energy solid roller cam and a one of their flat tappet cams in a long rod mill is 20 HP in the top end, and 23 ft/lbs at the peak in the mid range....) It will give you some clues to what does what (more duration, more LSA in your bumpstick and how it changes your power curve at certain rpms), but you want to use actual data when building up your slant and selecting the correct cam, induction (Wow! I can get 20 more HP by swapping out the 600 cfm Holley 4150, for a Dominator 4500 1000 cfm!!!!!), compression (I have to mill the head .180 to get another 15 hp?!!?!?)... have fun with it, and be sure to use a computer with more than a P3-800 so the iterator doesn't take all night comparing your cam, compression, and lift ( What do you mean it took 8 hours, and it says I should use 12.5:1 CR with a 210/240/26 .410/.480 advertised spec cam installed 6 degrees advanced?) -D.Idiot p.s. You can e-mail most of the cam companies for their 'spec' catalogs. Comp cam sent me their latest one with the 'lobe library' in it, for free ($6.50 plus shipping at their expense). I have programmed Dyno 2000 with all the cam grinds available from Isky, Comp, Crane(no longer available...good thing too), Engle, Dema Elgin and use it for reference on my laptop. |

I wasn't thinking it was exact but does give me some idea of what i might be looking at because it rated a stock slant six at 127 hp which is around 10 more then it actually makes with a bbd |

the last post was me and as for what specs bore, stroke, valve size, compression ratio and cam specs i don't know what the stock specs are for the cam but the rest i got the stock specs for at least if the ones i got are right oh and i will also need to know if you are running solid, hyrolic or a roller cam |

duster idiot is there a way to program it with some other engines i've noticed they are missing the 3.9 and various others for some of the newer and older vehicles and how about air filters and simple things like that i don't know if i can add anything of that sort as you can see i don't know the program very well yet but hope to learn my way around it |

You'll also need the valve sizes, and our heads are considered 'Low Performance' in the menu (even with OS valves and pocket porting our heads won't approach 'performance' combustion chamber ) 'Marine Cam' (post 1971 stock) specs are: 1.62 for Intake valves 1.36 for Exhaust Camshaft: Intake opens at 16BTC Closes 48ATC Exhaust opens 54BBC Closes 10ATC Duration 244/244 Overlap 26 degrees Intake lift .406 Exhaust lift .414 -D.Idiot |

thanks for them D.I. my cam aint that much diffrent then the stock one but i keep hearing good things about it |

You just have to get a book, or go to the library and get the specs (or visit a dodge site with the specs for the engine you want to 'tinker with')... For instance: MP states that the 3.9L V-6 Bore of 3.91" and stroke of 3.31" (sounds kinda like a 318 with 2 cylinders lopped of the end...) Compression Ratio 9.0:1 238 CID 'Swirl port' heads Valves are 1.78 intake 1.517 exhaust Lift intake .373 exhaust .400 Valve timing: Ex closes 16ATC Ex.opens 52 BBC Duration 248 Intake closes 50 ABC opens 10 BTC Duration 240 Overlap 26 Roller Hydraulic Cam good luck, -D.Idiot |

well thank again and yea i think thats what they did i do got a bunch of bore and stroke sizes for engines just no valve sizes or compression ratios for them |
