Not sure if this was known or not so I figured I would post. They are more expensive then Clifford but after talking to the butt of a salesman who answers the phone @ Clifford, I will not buy anything from them and will spend more money elsewhere if I have to do so...

Sounds like (yet) another good Clifford story. How 'bout some details?

Sure...

I am one that likes to do a lot of research before going into something full steam ahead. Since I am new to slant 6 racing I have called a bunch of people and asked a lot questions. Right now my focus has been on the cam and headers since I think I have gotten the rest of my questions answered and I know which way I was going. Well, I was talking to the guy at Clifford and he gave me a cam recommendation and I questioned it by asking what advantage did that offer vs. some of the other stuff I have been told... Boy, the person on the phone got really huffy and asked me; "why did you call me, sounds like you have your mind made up already?"

My response? Well, I said I am just trying to figure this out and decide what is best way for me to build my motor. I am not rich and cannot afford to just throw money around, I have to do it right the first time. I questioned them just like I have questioned you and they were more than obliged to answer my question. If you cannot answer a simple question and get all bent out of shape because I dare not take wat you say to the bank then I do not need to spend a dime with you...

Actually the more I see of Clifford products at the drag races, the more I like them. It seems to be pretty good stuff.
I've heard of concerns with Clifford's HyperPak intakes, but from what Doc says, that isn't an easy casting to make.

Hopefully Clifford is getting "customer service" feedback, and will work things through.
The price of the Hookers from Jegs is such that I feel good about the investment I made in new casting Dutra Duals.
I have a greater level of confidence with a street car sporting cast iron, having fought through daily driver header issues.

We don't have a huge choice when it comes to aftermarket performance parts for our engines.
It would be sad to see Clifford go away or discontinue /6 offerings.

It is sad to say that a once great company is forever going down hill.
When Jack Clifford was still alive he would and could talk to you for hours on end about all things inline. He always explained his reasons too.
AT a SEMA show I asked about building a high reving 170 and right then and there he sat me down and listed all the pros and cons of a 170 vs. 225 with torque figures and air flo ,head design, and what not. After months gone by I was in his area and stopped at their facility. He remembered me then took me on a tour of the place. HE was a big time Hudson racer and was very proud of what he started. I know that I should not say this but after his passing they should have just closed the doors.
I too have nothing but disappointments with the people that are in charge now. Jack would have been very unapproving of customer service.

The one thing I see is that they list those headers as fitting early A bodies, and I don't think they do. I have a pair down at the shop, and the motor is coming out of the '66 tomorrow, so maybe I should try to fit mine and see once and for all, huh?

Clifford and Layson's both sponsor Slant races, but I will never spend another dime with either until they clean up their business practices. :?

Those headers definitely will not fit an early A. The rear half will go in the car, but hits the steering column and torsion bar. The front half will not even come close. :?

I am thinking my headers are overkill for the street. I bought these used with a MP 6-1 header. The MP would not fit at all!

Are you interested in getting rid of them?

I just looked at the listing and it shows to fit a-bodies from 67 and up, nothing said about early As that I saw. They do specify 64 and up Barracuda which is probably wrong.

'64 -'69 Barracudas are A bodies. They say they fit. They won't.
