If I were to modify my current single bbl manifold into a 2 bbl and also added a 2 bbl carb., would I still need a kick-down link for the trans as well as a shorter throttle cable? If I were to modify my 1 bbl manifold, would i be able to find a 2 bbl adapter easyer than the actual super six manifold? Im 16 and not too familar with my slant six, so excuse my limited knowlage about it. im just trying to get the most power out of my car without breaking my budget, thanks.

The answers to your questions depend on how you modify the intake manifold. If you put the 2bbl mounting pad so that it's perpendicular to the engine, like the factory Super Six intake, then you would need new kickdown linkage and such. If you make it parallel instead, as described in the Parallel-2bbl intake manifold mod article (pdf) , then you can rather easily adapt your existing linkages. Note this article has a great deal of material on cutting and joining the 1bbl and 2bbl throttle shafts. That's for the '60-'66 cars with rotating-rod throttle linkage. You don't need to do that, because your later car has cable linkage that can without too much trouble be hooked directly to the 2bbl carburetor's original throttle lever.
