Does Chrysler make a one wire alternator like chevy does? I dont want to spend $50 something bucks to change out a voltage regulator only to have my ALT go out a week later and a week after that the VR goes out again. Has anyone tried to mount a chevy one Wire on a slant six? I might try and fab up some brackets for one. $52 I can spend on an alternator not a VR.

There is no good reason to use a "1-wire" alternator on a Mopar. It reduces the dependability of the system and means that if one component fails, you must replace both components, voltage regulator and alternator. Not much fun if the failure occurs in the middle of nowhere.

As for mounting a Chevy alternator, I cannot figure out why you're trying to reduce the reliability and longevity of your charging system. The standard Mopar setup works extremely well and is quite reliable. If you are experiencing repeated or continual failures, then it is because either you're not buying quality parts or something else is wrong with the system, and has not been properly diagnosed and repaired.
