Ok everyone has anyone here have a lag with their super six setup? I stomp the gas and the car goes blah then hold on! I haven't got a v-8 throttle cable but I don't know if that will do this. My accelerator pumps now work and the car idles nicely and as long as its not from a stand still it moves. i'm not sure if the kick down linkage could be the cause either? But I was let down at least my holley 1945 1bbl would try to lift up the front end. Some help and knowledge would help.

I had that problem with my 1BBL, and it was that my mixture was too rich, I just make the mixture lean and problem solve.

We have the very same problem with my son's '74 Dart Sport. I also believe it may be running a little rich, judging from the smell of exhaust. We haven't really had time to do a final tune-up, since getting his car on the road a few weeks ago. We plan to go through the valve lash, carburetion, and timing, as soon as we can.

Back when I used a BBD I had the same problem untill I got the pump shot correct and the metering rods set correctly for my setup. It really isnt difficult it just takes some time under the hood. mine liked the accelerator pump and metering rods set very high. not all the way up but almost.

ok so I adjusted every thing like 70valiant' said and its still bah off the line but at least it doesnt fall on it's face. in reverse the car will fry the tires for 7 to 8 feet but just takes off slow and smooth in drive. Does anyone of you now what the metering rod and jet #'s for the stock slant bbd are?
