Any one know where I can buy the original type wires with the large boots that will cover the tubes. I've searched all of the local parts suppliers

NOS wire sets show up on eBay with some regularity. You can also buy good-quality current-production wires (I like the Magnecor units) and add the plug tube covers yourself, see this thread

The Air-cooled VW boots will also work.
