I have found directions on how to build them on here but was going to use a manifold with everything broke off in it and remove both sides from the center and set it up with a y pipe what problems could i encounter in doing this

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here... I don't see how chopping the center section out and replacing it with a y-pipe could gain you much in terms of performance, and the lack of manifold heat could cause some cold weather drivability problems. The essence of Dutra Duals is that you can run true dual exhaust and still retain your manifold heat, if so desired.

thats the whole problem i don't want a dual exaust they are a pain to run in a truck with the gas tank taking up the left side

Except for the intake heat, I don´t see why it won´t work, and it would be simple to Y it into a bigger downpipe, to get some improvement.

I have thought of cleaning out some of the molding garbage in the exaust manifold, head and intake manifold

i was thinking if i straiten my piping as much as possible into a high flow catalatic converter and muffler i could make some gains since headers are proving hard to find and afford in a six into one

well I've been thinking and with the way winter can go some years here in ontario I may need heat for my intake so I may be better off with polishing my exaust manifold
