What year fuel pumps will work with a 225 from 1966?
Where to get them? Seems yearone and Laysons only have stuff for the V8s

I'd try the local autoparts store. It should still be available aftermarket. I've had good luck with both Carter and Airtex pumps, and there are many more decent aftermarket suppliers out there.

Whoah! Yeah, always try conventional sources before signing up to pay the kind of markup Year One and Layson's charge. A fuel pump for a '66 is still available at most any parts store.

Got one from Hy-Grade (Standard Ignition Products) about four years ago... (still in the trunk)...

Also look for KEM pumps...

Good luck !

well I went to autozone and they had everything I Needed (even a heater core) and everything was at least half (if not less) than the prices I found on Yearone and laysons. I am still going to use those guys for hard to find restoration items, but for regular stuff Autozone or Kragen (or local private owned shops).

Thanks for the heads up.

Can't you swap the pump lever and make a V-8 fuel pump work on a slant?

Fuel pressure would be way too high.

But it could be done if you install a regulator?

Lot's of things /can/ be done, but the question is, "Is it really worth the effort, when you can buy a new fuel pump for $20?"

Caesar,

I save the "specialists" (like Layson's) for the things that I just can't find anywhere else.

For the most part, my old cars are drivers, that don't get judged, so aftermarket parts are fine with me, and I get anything I can locally from my favorite Mom'n'Pop or one of the chains...

It's amazing the amountof stuff that can be had through places like Auto-Zone, Advance Auto, Kragen, Pep Boys, etc once you convince the counter monkeys to stop looking at the computer and crack one of those big thick parts books...

Good luck !

I believe that some high performance slants do use a big block Chrysler pump with a slant six lever. Kinda pointless on a stocker, but it gives more flow volume for a built motor without the noise of an electric pump.

well i bought a stock slant six fuel pump, but with my dual webers i need to get a pressure regulator. Webers run on at most 3.5psi so the regulator should help me with some problems I was having before.

thanks for the assistance.

No it wouldn't - but the stock pump will do just fine with a 4-barrel for most purposes anyhow.
