I have a 72 Plymouth Duster 2 dr. It has a 225, and a column shift. I'm looking to make a street/strip combo. I want to be able to say that it has a six cylinder, then blow them away. There are alot of ricers around here, and quite frankly piss me off. They have no idea what real American muscle is. I am a first year college student, but the longest trip I make is a 40 miler home and back.

As far as the intake, wouldn't a super six with a 500 cfm 2bbl be more effective than an offy with a 4bbl? The reason I think this is the turn in the arms of the intake.
No, maximum power you would want the roller rockers, but the rest of the engine would have to be built accordingly. You really don't need anything more the stock rockers in good condition, for 90 % of slant six buildups. If your going to build a full boogie race motor, then use the roller rockers (about $400-500), and the rest of the engine would cost about $5,000. Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go? You can build a very nice, potent slant for $1,000-$2,000.
I had a talk with Meril Bruner about roller rockers and he stated for that
the gain that I'd get I'd be basically throwing my $$$ away. I have seen
lots of slants run plenty fast with the stock rockers. I'd like the extra lift that I could get from a set of 1.6 rockers but $500 is alot of $$$. Just my .02....

what type of cars do you want to blow away. A street/strip combo is full of compermises. You can not have the best of both worlds. What is your goal as for et in the 1/8 or 1/4. Talk to me and lets see if we can guide you to whip some of your buddies. Thanks Ron Parker :D
