\6 A-833 OD. Any way to tell if it's a 9.25 or a 10" without tearing it apart.

I just called my local parts store (best around) for a clutch kit and he sprang this on me. I thought for the 6 they'd all be the smae. Would rather not have to tear it apart then order then put back together.

If you have an ex-cop car, or Taxi it'd be a 10"...

90% of the time it'll be the 9.25"...

Of course you can have the flywheel resurfaced and splurge for a "kit" and just swap over to the 10" unit if you want(a good one will include the bolts, disc, plate, and an alignment tool that doesn't help in aligning the disc....)...but if you're not drag racing or doing Hi-po the 9.25" is just fine...

You can drop the inspection cover and look, the 10 inch pressure plate cover has a real square look to it and has 6 special small head, built-in washer type mounting bolts "inset" into the cover.
See this article for more info.

you might want to stick with the 9.25" unit. i have the the 10" and have trouble downshifting be cause of the synchros having to accelerate the disc. www.specclutch.com has a 9.25" for the slant for about $260 thats good for 400 lbs. of torque. plus its sfi certified so you don't have to worry as much about the borg and beck three finger clutch cover exploding and destroying your car. you have to call for the clutch kit, it's not listed on the website.
