hey guys, posted a few days ago about a super six and aluminum 1 bbl at the local yard, got the whole super six setup, off of a volare that was driven into the yard, and an aluminum 1 bbl off a d 150, whole kit n caboodle for 43 bucks(inc. tax) so i think i should be able to do this based on the article on the main site, but i cant understand if i need the throttle cable off that or not, the car it is going onto is a 67 dart gt, thanks!

For a direct swap, you'd need a V8 throttle cable to suit your '67 Dart.

The one form the VOlare will work, but if I remember right your 67 should have a cable style throttle lnkage. THis will work so long as you drill out the little hole at the end of the cable.

The one from the Volaré will work once you modify the firewall hole (early cars like yours have a round metal ferrule at the firewall end of the throttle cable; later cars like the Volaré have a larger square plastic ferrule.

The existing cable is too long; if you loop or coil it to connect to the 2bbl attaching point, it'll bind.

You might want to rebuild that carb while you are waiting for the cable. When I put the 2 bbl on my '69, I ended up using the cable from the '69 1bbl somehow or the other. If you have an auto tranny, you will want the tranny kick down linkeage. I had to splice the tranny end from my '69 to the carb end of the volare link. I did this with a threaded rod union, and cut and tapped both rods to fit the union. A lock nut is needed to keep it in adjustment. This arrangement gives you another kick down adjustment, which is more convenient than going down under the car.
