Understandably this is a topic probably read alot on this forum (i've found it surfaces a lot as well) but known of the previous entries had the answer I'm looking for.

I have a Super Six manifold and a Weber 32/36 progressive carb. I'm trying to put the weber on the manifold and understand that I need an adapter, so before I go fabricating one on my own, I was wondering if anyone knew of an outfit that produces adapters to fit weber 32/36s to super six manifolds.

If not I guess I'm on my own, if so please tell.

Thanks!

Thanks for the tip Rust collector, also, I understand that there is an adapter off of a Datsun that can be modified to work in this application, if anyone knows of any Datsun vehicles that used webers could you tell me. A list or link would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

I believe Mr. Gasket makes a suitable adapter plate. Somewhere here I've seen the part number posted as well.

Did a little investigating on the Mr. Gasket adapter and found a Trans Dapt Adapter that fits Weber DGV and Holley Progressives to Datsun 1600-1800. With some slight modification (filling and redrilling manifold side holes on adapter) it should work. It's about $25.00 and I'm willing to bet it is the best thing I will find before having to fabricate my own adapter.

Anybody have any ideas or thoughts before I make a decision?

Thanks again!

BTW the part number for that Trans Dapt Adapter is 2107

Enjoy!

Can that Jeep adapter fit a Super six intake manifold bolt pattern though? that would be my only concern.

But thank you very much for the link Dakight!

The jeeps used the small carter bbd carb, similar to the slants, so it will fit.
I used half an hour to make my own...no big deal...
The bolt holes is kinda tricky, as the "carter holes" are in the same spot as the "weber holes", but not close enough to use as is, so the adapter needs to be in 2 parts.
Well, that is the way I did it anyway, and I think the jeep adapter is made the same way.
I have also welded a weber flange to a maifold, to get rid of the adapters, but I figure it depends on what you want to do.

Yes, it will fit. As Rust Collector noted, the Jeep used a Carter BBD very similar to those on the Super Six, the mounting holes are the same pattern. For more info see

Thanks everybody, I looked at every thing I found and campared to the jeep adapter people have told me about. Looks like I will go with the jeep adapter after all. One last question though is how much height does it add to the set up, so I can be safe on hood clearances with an air cleaner?

Thanks everybody!

Not sure how tall the jeep adapter is, but my homemade one adds ¾"
But you could make it a bit thinner if you used (not sure of the word) countersunk screws to bolt it to the manifold.

I bought my 32/36 from the same place daknight linked to earlier.

My adapter came with the carb and looks a little different from the jeep adapter. The adapter is two pieces, the first uses countersunk screws to the manifold and the second uses screws (can't remember if they were countersunk as well) to attach to the first piece and uses studs to bolt carb to it.

As far as added height, the gaskets that come with it are pretty thick and the two adapter pieces are about 1/2" thick. I originally wanted to use my stock air cleaner and had to use another adapter (from same outift) on top of the carb. Unfortunately, it wasn't even close, about 3/4"-1" too high. I ended up using one of their open element (K&N type) cleaners (the smaller 2" tall one) and it fits no problem.

the jeep adapter from WEBER red line is a 2 piece unit. so it adds about a half inch or more to the clearence requirements. can get it from different sources wholesale for about $35 plus shipping...has all the gaskets with it and its a clean setup.....GRT
