Went to a small local show today. two slant sixes were representing. 1 66' dart gt (stock?) and 1 67' barracuda 390hp NOS. that car was cool. lots of chevy sixes as well. who says the 6 is a dying breed

I just smelt a chevy six this morning

My best friend has a 73 Nova with a 250 six hooked to a powerglide. It is about an even match to my Duster. They are almost identical in performance.

Ok, you should really be beating that Nova pretty easily. Are you sure the Nova has a 'glide? It wouldn't really surprise me, but I would have thought it a TH350.

Nope it has a Powerglide. I have 2.76 gears and he has 3.08's so that is what is keeping us equal. I am about to recurve my distributor so Ihope that will give me the edge.

I thought the 250 put out more horsepower than a 225 and less torque. I can beat him off the line but he catches me at about 60 and we run even.

the sixes are great, my club has a 54 Savoy with a flat six, a 61 Galaxie, with a 220 straight, a 61 Falcon with 144, and now the 66 Valiant with 170/ 225 (i'm not sure which i'm gonna use yet).

My wife really wants for me to build her a gasser with that six cylinder Valiant.
