so I was driving my Girlfriend to work in my 68 dart when I rolled down the window to wipe my mirror, only to have the window disapear (quickly) into the door.... I asume it fell off the tracks... can any one tell me how to get the internal door panel off so I can atempt to fix this? or is there some other way to fix this?..

You have to remove the door lock knop, door handle and window crank. Using a stiff putty knife or gasket scraper, or better yet a door panel tool available at Harbor Freight, between the door panel and inner door skin carefully pry the spring clips from their holes. There are probably about 9 or 10 of them all around the sides and bottom of the panel. When you've got them all popped loose just tilt the panel outward at the bottom and lift it over the door lock screw post. There will probably be some heavy plastic film glued to the inner door skin; carefully peel that back to gain access to the inner workings of the door.

Same thing happened in my '68 Dart 270. Turns out there is small metal "tray" that the bottom of the window sets in, and the window is held into the tray by virtue of a plastic pin that goes through a 3/8" hole in the bottom of the window. The pin hardens, cracks and breaks.

I was unable to locate an exact replacement for the pin (although someone must have them), so I used something close that I found at my local hardware store. Also put in a plastic tie strap to ensure it stayed. It has worked flawlessly since.
