Im gathering up some parts according to Dan's hei conversion thread ( thanks Dan its a great concise list) I wanted to double check these accel wires though. These are stated as being for a 318. There are spiral core wires for slants 5061K but I believe these only come w/ 90 degree distributor boots where the 318 set has straights. Is this the method in your madness? Im trying to figure why there would be angle boots for a slant anyways, the ones I have on now are straight

Um-uhhhh...did you see me recommend Accel wires somewhere? I can't recollect ever having done so, can you point me to it so I can figure out what I was smoking at the time? I've never bought Accel wires. They strike me as too expensive for what you get (and what you have to do, i.e., finish manufacturing them!). Especially when you can get excellent Magencors that are much closer to a perfect fit, for less money.

while we on topic. Dan, you recommended to NGK ZFR5N gapped at 0.040"
I ve got still in the box the Bosch 4218 which are platium plugs. Are these good or sould I return them. The NGKs are not platium as you may well know. Is there a reason to not use platium plugs for this app.
Also I am a MSD6AL user.

I'd return them if I could. Bosch spark plug quality/durability has never been as good as the hype would have you believe, and has gone noticeably down several times in the last decade. Plus, the NGK ZFR5Ns work better and cost a lot less.

http://www.slantsix.org/forum/veiwtopic.php?p=101013 i cant get it to link but it is the formal 'how to retro fit hei' article with the picture of the msd blaster coil. You say magnecor and mention that accel 5047y is "another reasonably good wire set"

Lookit there, I surely did say that.

I would regard it as a distant second preference. Get the Magnecors! :-)

I found a set on ebay for 24.99 these are the accel super spiral w/ 300 ohms/foot 8mm I dont think thats a bad deal but would the lengths work from a v8? if so youd always have two spares anyhow.
Also got the bluestreak CH-410X as advised and found this as well. I dont know, do you wear hats dan? :D

Are these the same wires that are on Ebay for $24.95?

New 180* boots can be bought at NAPA if you don't want the 90* or reuse your old ones.
