this is out of a BMW, notice the small 30 mm primaries and the large 44 mm secondaries (mechanical) and the spread bores can have enough space to build a custom intake feeding two separated cyl banks such as using 2 staged 2bbl on the dual 1 bbl manifold! once I figure out what's all that connections and reman it myself, I think it would make a great carb for my slant.

I bet that's a Pierburg. I had similar thoughts as you did when I saw one of these on eBay: H'mm, a 4bbl specifically intended for an engine of about 3 litres.

I gave up the idea in a big hurry when absolutely every carburetor guru and BMW/Mercedes guy I spoke to told me how dreadful these carbs are, but I wish you the best of success!

pierburg=solex=zenith. Got f**ct! (well, not really, a friend of mine just gave it to me) one lousy rod for the overengineered choke mechanism costs €100! I'll be pulling and plugging tons of stuff if I got to use it!

When I first saw the carb it looked like one of those Ford Ventri Carbs. They have bad news connected to them too.
