This is how my 73 dart looks right now. My friend is painting it and i brought it home to put the motor and trans back in before he paints it. I'd rather drop the motor on it now instead of when its done. I'm painting it back to the original cream color.

I am about 65 miles southwest of Ft. Worth, in Stephenville. Are you a member of Cowtown Mopars or any other club in the Metroplex. I'll be ready to get my car out and show it off when it's done.

I'll post more pics as it comes along. I've been very impressed with how it has come along and the work that he has done on it so far. The passenger side inner fender had to be cut out and a new one welded in. He did a great job on that. The core support was also pretty mangled and he straightened it out. It really is a snow ball effect, you do one thing that makes it easier to fix another so you do that and then.... I am fortunate to have a pretty good job for a college student and I have few bills to pay because my parents help me out. I figure I am young and will have plenty of stuff to pay for when i am through with school so i might as well spend all the money i have right now on my car, what do you guys think? :D

No, I went to a few meetings of the Dallas Mopar Club, but wasn't too impressed for the most part. I've attended the Cowtown Mopar Club show in Lewisville for the last few years, and liked it a little more. I just get sick of the guys who just want to talk about their $50K big block trailer queens or race cars for hours on end. I like variety, and I like drivers.

I'm in Allen, basically the polar opposite in relation to the DFW area, but if you ever need a hand with anything on the Swinger, I'm not too smart, but I'd be willing to help out. Feel free to PM me.

Look forward to seeing your Swinger at a show. Think it'll make the Mopar Mini-nats on Labor Day weekend?

I hope it will be "done" by labor day weekend. At least driveable. I'm putting the motor and trans back in tomorrow morning and if i'm super lucky ill get it running too. Then, it's two more weeks till my buddy touches the car again and he hopes to get most of it painted then. That will just leave putting the rest of it together and what ever little things he needs to do to finish the paint.

Hey, as long as it's driveable, bring it out — I'd love to see it. My brother will likely be there with his cherry '67 Barracuda (small block instead of a slant, though. Poor guy!).

Just in case, here's a link to the Dallas Mopar Club events calendar for ya. Just scroll down to September. I'm always looking for more slants at the show. A "regular" with a '68 'Cuda convertible yanked his slant over the winter and dropped in a V8 (although it's a 5.7 Hemi, so at least it's still "different").

I'll drive my Swinger to the show, but it's not really worth looking at. It's a "go-er", not a "show-er". Hope to see ya there!

I got the motor and trans in the car today. I have everything hooked up and ready to go except getting the distributor in. So tomorrow morning I'll get it in and get it timed and try to get it running.

My dart will be a go-er too. I should be back to driving it every day soon.

Still not done with my car. It is painted and ready for me to put together. I have to install the headliner and have the windshield put in, put the door and roof rail weatherstrip on the drivers side, put the front bumper, grill, headlights, and bezels on and i am good to go. I also have to work through the wiring that got torn up for my head light and blinker.

I hope to have some more pics posted soon and be driving the dart again.
