After waiting almost two months, I'm going to get my car back from the shop today. And after all that waiting, a lot more has been done to my car than I thought (which is awesome, except for the $$ part of it. . .)

So here's what my engine has done to it:
1973 cylinder head shaved .020
Mild port and polish
.030 over pistons
Comp cams 252
Carter 2-bbl BBS off of a '76 318
2 1/4" exhaust
High capacity oil pump

It is all be painted and looking pretty under the hood as well.

I know it's turned out to be a lot of work, especially for a little 170 (well, 173 with the bigger pistons), and it probably doesn't need the oil pump, but my aim was to keep the smallest engine to be unique. That's why I didn't drop a 225 in her.

I'll let you know how much of a difference this makes when I pick her up later today. It'll be the fastest 63 Dart in my county (it's the only one!) and it's the only slant 6 I've seen at shows and cruises.

Before you pick it up make them put in a standard oil pump instead of the high volume one.

Too bad I didn't see this before I picked up my car a few days ago. I didn't read the entire articles completely, but the pump he installed was a Melling pump, which has rounded lobes like a stock Mopar pump according to the article.

Here I thought he put bigger pistons in it - someone actually did that before I bought it.

And I didn't know this, but the machinist who did my head work thought the '73 head I gave him was bad, so all the head work was done to my factory '63 (unless someone swapped a newer one on in the past)

Oh, and I forgot to list that I have a 2 1/4" pipe from a new factory exhaust manifold.

Anyway, my car seems to run like a top. I can't wait to get it broken in to really hit the right pedal. I should be able to beat some mopeds now.
