Since Excite went broke I am back on AOL dial up, so my Excite e-mail will no longer work. I'm back to our old one, aschumers@aol.com. Anybody else get bit by this? Dennis

I tried that before we got cable. I live in an area with about 8 million people, and DSL is not available. You have to live within a certain distance of a station(?) and there are none close enough to me.

I have a phone company switching station less than 500 feet from my apartment, but DSL isn't available in my area, and the phone company has no idea when it will be. Same thing for cable. So unless I move 12 miles away to where there is DSL, it's either 56K or a satellite uplink connection, which costs more $.

How 'bout ISDN? Is it available in your areas?
I had a friend in the same position, no DSL in the area. As soon as they started running the ISDN, it added a port to the local junction box and suddenly " you can have DSL now that you have a free port in your area..." Dang phone company.

boy are we off topic...oh well.
