The ol' Holley must have a bad accelerator pump because if I give it any gas while I'm in "D" it just sputters and dies. So, I still have the 1980 california smog carb fromthe previous engine that I could put on it. If I plug up all the crazy extra vaccuum ports, will that carb still work just fine? I'm not interested in a new carb or rebuilding the 1920 becuase I just need get this van moving real quick. It's become a "yard dog" and it blocks the entrance to my garage.

Thanks guys.

The only way to replace the acc. pump in a Holley 1920 is "rebuild it", as the pump diaphragm is behind the metering block...

Boy, I surely would not voluntarily use a 1980 California-spec Holley 1945 carb if I could at all avoid it, as by rebuilding a better (earlier) carb or buying a new one.

we're not that picky... we use "replace the accel pump diaphragm (or piston where it applies" for "remove your air filter assembly... etc etc etc rebuil the carb... etc etc etc... install back your trottle retur spring" and all that stuff....

I'm sure Fede will catch on soon  You should try to navigate one spanish (argentinian) dodge site, it's funny (not hilarant) messy and complicated!  For replacing one spark plug you can get anything from no answers at all to 10 pages of strong worded discussions about what it's really a spark plug

once a really enlightened member sticked out his head outta his behind in the middle of a thread and asked "what's a spark plug's gap?"

teh funny amusing part is that he was asking that for real, after giving advice on other important related stuff! :x

I took that smog carb out of the box i was storing it in and looked at it last night. ANd then I pt it right back in that box and resigned myself to rebuilding the carb. :)

I'll look in to these "spark plugs" as you call them. I'm not sure where on the carb they go, but from the sound of it they are pretty important. :)

Thanks guys.

Um, like, I have this fuel line thingy? Like, on my car? And it's, like, cracked? Like, so, it leaks? And I just, like, noticed that my car's fuel economy, like, sucks? So, like, I was, like, wondering, like, what's the effect of a fuel line leak?

PD: my Holley has the lateral entrance of fuel... I think its a falcon carb, because the base of the filter is blue.
