I cross-pollinated from the FOR A BODIES ONLY site now that I have a slanter in the driveway. My name is John and I live in Queens, N.Y. I'm a technician for Nissan so I get my hands dirty on a daily basis. I just recently picked up a clean `74 Dart for a daily bang-around car and I also own a `68 Barracuda 340-S. Naturally, I hope to make a few friends here and ask all the dumb questions that the new guys always ask!

Thanks Dan. Considering the poor build quality and materials used in our beloved old Mopars it's actually pretty amazing to find a driver in this condition out here in the wilds of NYC. It's a 225-auto-P/S and that's about it.... Runs beautiful as it has (only....) 78K on her. The body has been repaired in a few spots and there's minuminal rust in non-critical spots. Floor boards and frame are perfect. I just rebuilt the entire front end using a P-S-T polygraphite kit and re-built the braking system ( I'm kinda funny about stopping and steering....) I also re-sealed the wiper pivots as they were starting to leak. Next up is installing a stereo so I can have my Sirius with me. 8)

Now all my Hot Rod buddies are betting on when I buy the mounts and start searching for a big block. I'm more interested in maybe a simple intake and exhaust upgrade, and that's where I'll be asking the stupid questions...

John,
I am in the Glendale/Ridgewood area. Not too far from you as far as Queens is concerned. :) I'd like to see pics of your 'Cuda too.

Are all of your Hot Rod buddies going to buy your gas? 'Cause I'm sure they drive their big block Darts to work every day, the way I drive my slant, right?

Guess I need a new job. I NEVER wanna get to work that quickly... :)

Fortunately I work 1/4 mile from where I live so my commute involves left foot-right foot so fuel mileage is moot. It's just that I already own a gas suckin Hot Rod. Why do I need two?

Here's another shot with different hub caps.

Careful! I bought my Swinger with the express purpose of dropping in a small block stroker, only to get totally hooked on this slant-thing (due in part to this board!). Recently, I even let my V8 '67 Dart GT convertible go so I can concentrate more on the Swinger...

When the "peer-pressure" from your hot rod buddies gets too intense, you're welcome to seek refuge here.
