Greetings

Got my /6 rebuilt (73 Duster) had a performance cam and other parts installed which require headers, my question is what about the under side of the intake do I just leave it open or have it weled closed or will it work opened.

Make and install an EGR blockoff plate, and leave the bottom of the intake open. As long as the EGR is blocked, it will be fine.
