i have a dodge ram van b150 1983 and my engine has no spark in the distributor. i check the coil and it's good so i change the pick up coil in the distributor and now when i crank the engine it has no spark and when i release the key , they spark a little ??? anyone got that problem before and the truck won't start

Your 1983 probably has two pickup coils in the distributor. If that is the case, and you replaced both of them, or if you have only one pickup coil in your distributor, then check your ballast resistor. If that passes, then check your ignition switch.

I agree it sounds like your ballast resistor I always carry a spare behind the seat. They sell them at NAPA.

check to make sure your getting enough voltage to everything. i had a car one time that the ammeter connectors were loose and was only letting about 9 volts get to the ignition system. no spark during crank, but it fired when the key was let up.

zedpapa that's my engine does !! when it crank , no fire but when i release the key it does fire it up a bit. and i have the single pickup coil
and if it the balast , where is located because it's hard to find !
and how can i check if the balast is ok or not ??? and , the switch can i jump directly the starter like key on run and jump to see if it fire

the ballast should be located on the drivers side fire wall it is white about 3 1/2 inches long. You should have continuity through the ballast using a meter. if it is good.
