Just make sure the metal surface to be painted is clean, and use an engine paint like Duplicolor Engine Enamel. The intake manifolds do not get all that hot, so the paint lasts just fine. My favorite is DE 1622 Chrysler Orange.

It's probably because it's the first time I've seen a thread and not been able to figure out what the hell you were even asking. Honestly, I have no idea what your question is, aside from the fact it involves an aluminum intake manifold and paint. If you want an answer, you're going to have to either a) just put a new reply on your previous thread to bump it up, or b) RE-TYPE the question in the new thread you start instead of just saying "same question again." Honestly, I didn't even remember you posted previously, and I certainly wasn't going to take the time to look it up if you didn't even care enough about the answer to do so yourself.

Internet message boards are funny places, some questions get more input then others for unknown reasons.... don't get discourage, just ask again as you did.

Anyway, the e-beam welded 2 piece intake has a bad rep. for porosity, cracking and warpage so be sure to check yours carefully for problems before investing a lot of time into it.

I have used many of these welded manifolds without problem but I do some special prep work to them before painting.
To start, do a light grind / sanding to the weld "bead", then wire brush and blow any metal chips or dust out of all the "pits & pot-holes". Next, use some metal filled epoxy to fill-in all the little pits and any cracks, sand smooth once the epoxy cures. Clean and paint the manifold with a good quality paint, use a few thick coats.

This process will seal any porosity or small cracks.... and it makes the manifold look a lot better once painted.

Thanks, I had heard of the probs. but when I found it in the JY, I had to get it. Good advise. P.S. I never told you how much I like the duals. Been very happy with them, one day i will get the other set on my Duster.
