Hi folks,

I KNOW /6Dan gave a good solid opinion on this a while back but darn if I can find it in searching. I have about got my engine put back together after project creep associated with trying to stop my July oil pan leak. IN studying my radiator hoses I still want a spring inside rather the use the new ones without springs. BUT the only spring set I can find is set I took off a year ago...Gates hoses with what looks like number 22028 for the bottom. Are spring inserted hoses no longer made, or they only available with a number I think I remember Dan sharing?

Then, this time I made a determined effort to get a stainless braided set of hoses, both radiator and heater. I am STILL stuck where I was last year..no one supplier can tell me what AN fitting I need for the 1.5 inch or 1..75 inch slant six radiator neck and thermo housing neck. THe reason they give up is because these necks have raised collars and the suppliers tell me AN fittings for braided hose have to go on straight pipes. I am not willing yet to cut the radiator necks behind the collars, or file the thermo housing smooth , when I see pictures with braided hoses on...so others have obviously solved the problem...how can I fit braided to AN?
thanks!

From what I've seen, the "AN" radiator hoses are usually just sheathing kits that are purely cosmetic. I'm more of a fan of the hoses that are similar to [url=http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D390124&N=700+4294924496+4294821621+4294853595+115&autoview=sku]this[/url.
