OK, I know. Tried to get by cheap with 2 1/2" generic hose.

Are any of the suppliers offering correct defroster hoses for my 74 Valiant? The varying diameter ones? For less than a house payment?

The darn 2 1/2" won't stay put on the driver's side, even with copious slatherings of Duct tape.

Available from NAPA??? :D
6ft lengths of: 1 1/4" = PN# 813-1508
1 1/2" = PN# 815-1002
1 3/4" = PN# 815-1000
2" = PN# 815-1001
All the older Mopars I work on take the 1 1/2"..... :wink:

Get an A/C vent adapter from one of the aftermarket A/C suppliers. With that and a cap from a paint spray can (yes, a cap with a hole cut in the top!) you can make a very non-pretty, but funcional replacement using generic hose. I'd give more information, but it's installed and I can't see it without taking out too much stuff. All I know is that it's been on for 3 years and it's working fine.

Year one has them listed for $45. Website says:

DVA61 Reproduction dash vent hoses for 1967-1976 Dodge/Plymouth A-body models. $44.95

Hoses with an s... $45/pr isn't too shabby.

I can't remember what size I bought, it fit snug on one end but on the other I cut the first and second spring loop on opposite sides then used a ziptie so the hose would collapse over the plastic. Not pretty but its held up.

I don't think any tape would hold up to the heat/cold cycles.
