225 in a '67 Dart GT sitting 1" higher on the drivers side than the passenger side.?????
Just bought the car. previous owner says its been that way since HE bought it 4 years ago???
Bought NEW engine mounts (Insulators) for it. SAME PROBLEM.
Looked up the engine mounts in the Factory Parts manuel. Same for all '67 & '68 & '69 & '70.
Engine mount Brackets SAME for all 4 years too.
'66 would not even match up to the insulator's positions at the '67 frame mounts anyway. Takes different insulators also.
K member is NOT bent. Brackets on K member NOT bent.
Engine sits 1" higher on the Left than the Right ??????????
Thanks,
Terry

Where are you measuring to get the 1" difference?

You can get some repositioning by moving the mounts with-in the noted K-frame slots. I tend to rock the engines i install to the driver's side so I have a little more room to get to the distrib., oil filter, etc.
Also check the rear trans. mount and for any other items making contact with the chassis, that could cause the mis-alignment.

1. 1" ? Using the carb flange as true level (across) of the engine. using a 30" carpenters level, the Rt side is 1" lower than the left.
2. K-Member checks out square and installed correctly.
3. The car has no damage from collision and checks out factory square frt to rr and rt to lt.
4. Tried 2 different Mfgr's on the new mounts too. Same results.
I've done all my homework gang. No reliable local answers, brought me here with the problem.
 Thanks,
Terry

It could be a bunch of "tolerence stack-ups" creating the problem.
Has the car been on an alignment rack, doing a good front end alignment may give you some insight into the cause of the "tilt".

In the end, you may need to add a shim under the right side motor mount to get things level.

I did note that the present and replacement Lt mounts are really thick compared to those used in like my /6 A-100's.
Looks like THAT issue could be the culprit but I'm using the correct insulater.
I've gone through all my spare old Slant/6 engine brackets looking for one that is shorter for the lt side, or longer for the Rt. Nothing matches up with the holes in the frame or with the correct engine insulator, though.
Still researching..... :?:
Thanks for all the help gang,
Terry

The K-member on this '67 car was changed at some time in the past to a newer'68-up one. Looking straight on from the front it seems fine. Close inspection finds a large dent from ?? at the rear edge of the center of the K-member.
Instead of printing here what I was told by the shop I went and investigated myself.
This car took a shot from hell just behind the leading edge of the K-member. Heaved everything UP. includinbg the Steering box and therefore the column. :(
Got a primo replacement K-member coming from SC. $60 delivered.
Thanks for everybodies input. :D
Merry Christmas to all.
Terry

Good work Terry, it's nice when you find the real cause of a problem, now you can fix it right... which it sounds like your are already on the way to do.

It sounds like the shop you first went to did not look closely.
The moral, always double check and think through what any shop tells you about what your car needs, it's "buyer beware" out there.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is if the K-member took that kind of a hit what else might have been damaged as well.
