Hi, I come here for your expertise on carbs, hopefully for webers.

This weber DFEV 32/36 23A was originally from VW 1.7L air cooled off the ebay and I'm putting this on caravan's 2.2L to replace ailing holley 5220 carb.

If someone have done one for 2.2L engine size for jetting and MPG on jetting set up. I'd love to have this info.

Reason I ask about jets setup rejig is this carb jets appears to be not stock config that I see on weber's data sheet for DFEV. The jets is at least 1 to 2 size larger than stock 170 and 140 I think for the air mains visible.
I have to get rebuild kit to replace old stuff that might have gone bad with storage.

Curious to know that.

Oh, new thoughts popped up: The spark computer control rely on manifold vacuum so I have to re-reoute this from alterative source and
I thought of using the capped off ingition spark advance port as EGR port.

Also there is a manifold port but is plugged with a rod besides the idle mixture screw. Could use that instead if I swap this round rod for a nipple from my collection of junk holleys.

air cooled engines run hotter and needs more fuel, yes. They run way richer than most water cooled ones, that's why you'll be fine. Air main jetting doesn't show nthing besides that previoous owner might have been leaning out the carb by using larger air bleeds. This works better than stepping down in main jet sizes, mostly because adding emulsion air to the fuel makes it more stable for better air/fuel mixture atomization. This might have been used on a water cooled engine, and instead of rejetting it, they just used bigger air mains.

i sold them for years and installed most on a wide variety of cars from 1.4L to 3.0L. the factory jetting in a 32/36 A or E series always worked fine on all applications. (with the same jetting) only time i tinkered with jetting was to get the MOST out of it in a race application which gaineds where slight.
