Have any of you ever painted a valve cover using the bedliner material? I've seen a pickup or two with the spray in bedliner, and think it would look pretty good on a valve cover. If you've done it, got a picture?

Eek. The mental image I come up with is those messy engine bays where someone has taken in a car to be undercoated, and the shop does a sloppy job and gets that gunk all over everything.

Black or red crackle-finish paint I can understand using on a valve cover, if you're willing to wash the engine periodically to keep it clean. Factory-type engine paint, I can understand using, too.

But bedliner material...?

Powder coating is the best way to go. Drake Coatings can do this for you and it will be the best. Thanks Ron Parker :D

Isn't it some sort of plastic?

But you could throw your tools on it without scratching. I don't think it's made for the heat either. Not my personal taste for underhood detailing either.

Although your slant won't get hot enough(hopefully!)to melt it, powder coat actually does melt.......that's how you get the finish. :D
