I have a camshaft for a /6 which was described as similar to a hemi EH20 cam. Supposedly .450 lift 220 duration and 110 center. Does this sound right and is it an appropriate choice for a street machine, quick but not crazy?

The numbers you gave us sound reasonable, do you have a "cam card" with more info.?
Do you know who ground the cam? Any special part numbers stamped or engraved on the face of the rear journal?

Thanks for your reply, DD. I ordered the cam from Don Gould at FBO, who also curved my distributor (electronic Ignition). I know it was ground in Baltimore if that helps. I'm pretty sure I didn't get a cam card, and Don doesn't remember. Not a big deal, since I got a good vibe from Don; that he was matching various components. All this cam talk made me curious. The numbers I posted were from notes I took during a phone call with Don. I already installed cam and new timing chain. I'd be out in the driveway today, but wind chill is below zero. Summer is for driving!

The best thing to do at this point is to degree the cam, put 4 degrees of advance on it, and run it.

Thanks RR7169, that sounds easy enough. All this cam talk has me interested. It sounds like some like a shorter exhaust duration and some don't. I don't ever go real fast in my /6 convertible, not since I rolled a Toyota truck on Storrow Drive at rush hour. Saving up for a roll bar.

Just talked to Racer Brown as you suggested. He remembered the order and gave me the numbers: 254 deg duration @ .18" and 226 @ .50" (max lift) and 108 deg seperation, 105 centerline. He suggested, like DD a 3-4 degree advance.
