Overall it looks pretty decent for its age. No A/C (which I'm fine with), but it definately looks like there's alot of smog control garbage on that engine, which will be the first to go.

The intake manifold looks like it's for a single barrel, but the aircleaner is huge compared to the single barrel air cleaner in the ex fiance's Dart. could I be looking at a Super Six setup, or is this the air cleaner that was used in '74s with the single barrel?

And what is all that gunk on the firewall??? Looks like that fiberglass insulation you spray into your attic...

looks like a 1 bbd to me by the looks of the fuel inlet. Also my 74 dart had the same a/cleaner on it

Okay, that's what I suspected. But I still had my fingers crossed that I had stumbled upon a Super Six. The ex's Dart was a '70, so I assume later years got a larger (or maybe the Dart's wasn't stock) air cleaner?

Look like a pretty good deal for $1500?

I'm certainly no expert, but I paid $1600 for my '74 Dart 4 door, $1500 sounds reasonable to me.

My air cleaner is the same size as the one pictured, and is the standard 1 bbl Holley 1945.

How does it run? Mine was drivable but needed a carb rebuild, new distributor, and a few other things.

The ad claims that it runs well, but needs some basic tune up work done (oil change, transmission filter replacement & fluid change, and rear axle oil change). I'll make sure it runs well before dropping cash on it, and if I get it I'll do a full tune up before putting any serious miles on it. I just gotta figure out how to get it onto the base the day I buy it since I won't be able to get any proof of insurance until I get to a computer that I can print my policy from (and I still live on base!)

Jopapa, I work in Airway Heights. I could meet you at the office and hook you up if you need, after hours if necessary.

Let me know if I can help.

Thanks for the offer. It's looking pretty definately that I'll be getting the car now, so hopefully I'll be able to get out to Sprague early enough in the day to take care of all the stuff I gotta do to get it on to the base.

Let me know and I can meet you there at the office. Don't worry about time, I have a key so it's not like you have to get it done during business hours.

I'm at your disposal, you set the time and I will be there.

Do you need a ride out there, or do you have that covered?

So far the plan is to take a buddy of mine out to sprague with me and he'll drive my truck back to the base as I drive the Duster, just in case anything comes up during the drive back. I figure the 35 miles on I-90 will give me an indication of anything requiring immediate attention.

Man I can't wait to get started working on that thing. It's gonna be SWEET once it's all cleaned up and repainted.
