Does anyone have a US source for Australian slant sixes?

I'm sure i'll be corrected if wrong, but i don't think there's any difference between american and australian slant sixes, that is, unless you meant the actual cars?

1970 was the last year a S/6 was offered in a car. It was replaced with the Hemi 245, then 215 and 265 versions shortly after. They lasted till the colapse of Chrysler Australia in 1981. Mitsubishi bought it, and are still there today.

It is a hemi version I am looking for, they were made with stock output ratings up to 310 HP

The Australian Hemi-6 was a "Hemi" pretty much in name only, for marketing purposes. It does not have a hemispherical combustion chamber like the 1950s-early '70s Hemi V8s.

Neither does the present DaimlerChrysler "Hemi" engine, for that matter.

Remember, the bad thing about Wikipedia is that anyone can edit it. That's also the good thing about Wikipedia.

You don't want a "Hemi 6" Grease. Sure they can be made to produce good hp, but Slants are more reliable and parts are more readily available. Especially in the US.

There were/are some guys in Melbourne getting 350HP out of the 265 Hemi I6, and using triple 52mm DHLA Del'Orto carby's. And were fairly reliable. One of the tricks used with a 265 was to get the block sonically tested, then bore them out 0.090", then use 327 Chev pistons.
All the hemi 6's had the same stroke.

For decades Chrysler had a small six and a big six. The 251 L-head was used in medium duty trucks to about 1968. The Australian six was intended to replace the bigger six, after cost analysis the program dropped as the 318 was thought to be adequate for the US market. Inline sixes have a good market in Australia.

I did round up a few 265's too... good thing since I am fresh out of stock on them here (aside from a 245 spare laying around)

Got another Hemi-6 powered vehicle on the way too.. a VF Ute this time around.. the VG coupe last time was cool and thought I would give a ute a go.

The question I have is this, if Chrysler Australia stopped putting slants into vehicles in 1970, as is always touted, why does my four book VJ Valiant (1973-5)factory workshop manual state the 225 slant as an export market option? Why have VJ and later Valiants been spotted overseas with slants?
Why do rumours persist of post 1970 Valiant utes being fitted with slants, on special order from fleet buyers (who had slants in their trucks till the D5N truck took over from the AT4?
Just more misinformation and bull being spread by the usual uninformed rumour mongers.

Because Australian-built Valiants were exported to South Africa and other markets with slant-6 engines. The Hemi-6 was pretty much exclusively sold in the Australian & New Zealand markets.
For the same reason.
They very well could have been, given that slants were on hand for export production. I'm not sure what it is you're trying to prove or disprove here.
