I should have asked this before I ordered but, I got my Eddie 500 with electric choke and air cleaner from Summit. I got the Summit round 14" diameter with a 3" tall K&N style filter. The drop is 1 3/16", a little too low for the electric choke. It is 4.25" in height.

a) I could either get a 3/4" spacer, but I am concerned about upper clearance at the hood.

b) get the 14" with a 2" tall filter and .75" drop, height of 4". They have a 1/2" spacer if needed.

But, should I go smaller (10"?), triangle, or oval? I got the 14" round because of the many choices and cheaper prices. My current Super Six air cleaner is 14" diameter (with a 9" diam filter inside).

How tall of an air cleaner can I go? Should I get a spacer below the carb? The offy intake has a 3/8" adapter plate, which I assume kind of functins as a spacer. Should I get an anti-heat spacer?

Do you have a nipple for the breather hose to the valve cover?

This is new territory, so any and all advice is appreciated. The carb is going on this weekend, and I will need to keep the dirty air on the other side of the fence.

Bigger is better with air cleaners, so I'd keep the 14" (besides a smaller diameter will still have the height issues.

Can you dent the underside of the aircleaner to clear the choke?

Raise up the air clean with something, then carefully see if the hood closes.

If it closes, gets some of that crushable foam and put on top of aircleaner and close again. You should then see how much clearance you've got.

If clearance is tight, you could angle cut the spacer too........
