still can do it with cam with 4 and up triggers to spark 4 cylinders? I cannot put the 36-1 wheel on crank by way the chrysler had built the 2.2/2.5. Crank pulley have no room for VR wheel behind the pulley and putting on front is tricky.

It's not very easy to get EDIS to work with a cam trigger unless you have a very large trigger wheel. But it's possible to make Megasquirt (or quite a few other aftermarket ECUs) run a distributorless ignition with a suitable cam trigger. The simplest cam trigger I've seen appears on a few Mazdas (including the Miata) and Mitsubishis - it has four outer holes and either one or two inner holes, and two optical sensors. Each outer hole triggers an ignition, and the inner holes reset the ECU's count.
