I am wondering if anyone knows the store size of a 225 slant size for a 66 dart? Also will a radiator from a later dart in the 70's work? I got rid of my 66 dart and now I don't know what to put in the dart. thanks for you help

A little more info. would help. What year are you working with, another 66 Dart?

In general, stock SL6 radiator size is 19 inches wide, the AC radiator is 22". Later versons can be made to fit.

yes I alm working on a 66 dart. I had a 4 core radiator that is too tall that is out of a c body. thanks for your help

I used to have an Aspen/Volare radiator in my Dart. Close to a bolt-in, but the hoses are in slightly different spots.

What do you guys think about an aluminum radiator? Could he use one in his dart? (I'm trying not to hijack a thread...)

My radiator is trash, and I'm looking at either a new replacement for $197.00, or an aluminum split radiator/tranny cooler for $205.00. I like the alloy, but is it worth it?
Opinions, recomendations, gripes, and spitting welcome.

An aluminum radiator? That's what I am putting in the Dart now. It had to have some brackets welded on as I went with a universal one. I will see if it's up to meeting the cooling demands of a slant six with a large frame Garrett.

I don't know if "they" make a direct fit for your model year, but I have BeCool's AL direct fit rad. for my 67 and everything about it is great except the price. It keeps it very cool in Orlando with the A/C running. If I had more time and the tools to do it myself I would have went with the universal based on cost. The universal will need brakets and the tools to weld them on ect. I've never been know to spend money wisely, so I went with the $750 BeCool AL rad. Dropped in and fit, done. Money well spent and time to play with the kids.

You might have a hard time coming up to temp! From what another slanter was telling me on his slant Cuda.

I know I had a 440 in a '67 Cuda that the stock radiator (273) Plugged up. I got a Newport unit and had to cut the slots deeper to get it to drop in. I couldn't use a pressure relief cap because it hit the hood!

My Duster has a 79 Volare radiator in it with shroud. It dropped in. The neck on the radiator top is different. It is smaller than my stocker. I just bought a 79 Volare top hose and all was good.

I got a new radiator with the 74 Duster I just bought. I Guess it will go into storage for the future.
