New member here, I have just recently taken on a project with an old A100 van, 1966 to be exact. I've been looking for a manual on it but apparently there were some major changes in 67, so naturally all the easily available manuals start in 67 and go to 88, does anyone have a good lead on a site for out of print or hard to find manuals that might carry this? Tried motors, haynes and chilton and they all go back to the 67 manual and no farther. Was there enough of a change to make a 67' no good for work on a 66? Oh yes, vin on it says its a 225 slant six, holley said that it never existed, who's right?

Welcome to the board. Avoid the aftermarket (Haynes, Chiltons, etc.) type manuals, though of that lot, Motor's would probably be preferable to the other two. For real factory manuals (the ones to get), try the source described in this thread. Very little difference between '66 and '67 on these vans.

225 slant-6 is correct, Holley are clueless. Did you have questions about the van's fuel system? You'll probably get better answers here.

There are a couple of FSMs for the A100 on eBay right now. I think 1 might be for earlier models while the other might be for later A100 models. Apparently a serial number is an important consideration.

the 67 manual will have the A-108 model included with 90 inch.Some differences in 67 are ,availability of the 318 cid,108 inch wheel base,ignition switch position,heater controls position,fuel tank strap and door handle mechanism .The rest is pretty much the same as a 66 .Not sure where you are located but if your VIN number starts with an "A" you have a export model most likely Canada.

Great, this alot of good info, That will help me get started. The manual I'm thinking the '67 manual will work for me, and will get the one I saw on ebay, much cheaper than the dealers. As for vin no.'s, I'm assuming they were short, the only plate I could find was on the drivers door and most of the writing was worn off so I figure the vin must be A745, if so this a canadian model. And as for the carb., I haven't even got into it yet, just looking for parts availability before I get too deep into this. My parts house couldn't find a parts no. for the holley because they didn't list the 225 as an option for that year. But I'm thinking the one for the 67' listed will work. During the deconstruction found that soemone had jerry rigged a non stock radiator in which looks smaller than an original and then tied in a freezer radiator into the heater core lines to make up the loss in volume, Anyone have an idea what a stock radiator should look like?

The VIN will be between 11 and 15 digits long on your '66, whether it was originally built for the US, Canadian or international market. Keep looking (check the forward area of the driver's door frame); you will find the VIN. A745 is not it. The VIN will be stamped into the plate, not printed or written on it. Beside that, the vehicle's VIN should be on the title, registration, and insurance slip! :shock:

If your van was originally intended for the Canadian market, it would be badged as a Fargo on the grille, tailgate, and fenders, not as a Dodge. If it's got "Dodge" nameplates, it's a US-market unit. The info plate will have both the Dodge and Fargo names on it regardless of original market destination.

Be careful and slow down on your parts hunt. Ask questions here first, and then buy parts. "Remanufactured" carburetors available at parts stores are junk and a waste of money. The original radiator in your '66 would've been approximately 19" wide and had a rounded top tank.

The A-745 number is the type of transmission you have,a 3 speed ..The VIN number is located on outside of the right side frame rail (passenger side)just behind the front wheel.If you cannot locate the VIN , look on the drivers side ,a few were put on that side .Canada received Fargo and Dodge A-100's ,both will have the export type VIN .I own both a 66 Fargo panel and a 65 Dodge A-100 pickup, they are made in Canada ,my other 67 Dodge A-108 is made in the USA ..
