Following the group buy post, alot of folks seem to be ordering the the 270. For those of you that have one in use now, I'd like to know is how this cam behaves for you?
What are the specs on the motor their in? Milled, ported, valves, C.R., pistons, etc?
What about tranny, larger stall, 4 speed, etc?
Rear end ratios?
This is going in a work van, and I want torque and power more than I have now.
My plans are to build a maxed out port job head, 50-60 thou milled motor with about a 9-1 compression. I have a sup 6 with weber 32/36, 2-1/4" w/turbo muffler, 727 stock stall, 3:55 rear already in place on a tired motor.
As for other engine stuff, I haven't torn into it yet so I don't know what the bore is outside of what might be stock. Thanks

I'm running one in an '82 Ram. 9.5:1 compression w/ .90 off the head. SI valves (1.70/1.44), stock pistons and bottom end, mild port work professionally done to stock head from a '78 Volare. 2300 Holley on a super six using adapter plate, stock exhaust. 727 transmission w/ stock converter, 3.23 gears in back.

Compared to the stock hydraulic motor it replaced, it has significantly more top end power; the bottom end is pretty much equal to what I replaced. No loss, but no gain either. That's what I was assuming would happen, so I'm very satisfied. The idle isn't perfectly smooth, but it will idle at 500 rpm forever without any problems.
