Apparently my old style timing chain has stretched on my 68 Dart 225. Question: Do I have to replace the crank gear also, or just the cam gear and chain? Can this be done with the engine in the car? Do I have to pull the pan or replace the pan gasket when doing this? This is a stock engine that has not been rebuilt, and I will be getting a stock replacement timing set. Any help appreciated.

Not a problem! You will have to remove the radiator to get at the timing gear cover, but it's easy, and the engine can stay in the car.

You can order just a chain, but I always replace the gears and chain as a set. The stock set is less than $40 at NAPA.

About the only special tool you will need is a puller, and you can rent that for a few dollars.

and yes and yes to the oil pan and gasket. Don't forget the front main seal, while you're at it. I prefer to line up the timing marks BEFORE I tear it all down. Makes the assembly a little easier.

You shouldn't have to do anything with the pan. The rubber gasket for the front of the pan should be with the timing cover set.
