In your particular instance I don't think its the injectors or an external leak, I was just saying those are the only other possibilities. If the injectors were really leaking that much fuel the engine would run horribly and probably hydrolock.

I'm not too keen on adding new variables to eliminate old ones. I liked the idea that was mentioned earlier to eliminate the regulator. Pinch off the return line, power up the pump briefly to build up some pressure, and turn the pump off. If the leak was in the regulator then this should make the system hold pressure, and this would be a conclusive test to eliminate or prove the regulator influence on the situation.

I don't know the workings of a regulator but I know they are directional otherwise they wouldn't be labeled. All the aftermarket ones I've seen were labeled. I recall coming across a good detailed explanation of how regulators work online that I will try to find.

Thanks Pierre, There are no labels on this particular one. It is a Paxton model. I have it written down on the invoice filed away. Is there a possibility that Paxton designed it this way to eliminate static pressure on the line after the engine is shut down? I suppose I could call them and ask. Maybe I am worried about a non problem.
