just got this cam off ebay:

http://www.cranecams.com/?show=browsePa ... vl=2&prt=5

I'm working with the seller because my bid got tampered by a guy named gabriel chiavetto (he's registered here as dodgepolarart, beware if you're on ebay and he's bidding as gabyvai, his profile information wrongfuly says he's in the states, this warning goes for buyers and for sellers as well) so we're trying to figure out a decent real price for the cam.

Just wanting to know if some of you might have an idea of a fair price for the item. Thanks guys!

I got that same Crane cam, with lifters, off Ebay about 2 years ago. Crane quit cataloging slant six cams about
It took $110 to win the auction. The seller was local, 30 miles north of me, so I picked it up, he let me have it for $100 since he didn't have to bother with shipping!

Erson ordered 50 cam blank and has sold over 1/2 of them.
You can still get a great price on an Erson cam if you mention slantsix.org special pricing when you place your order.

I was watching that auction, also. When the bidding went over $100, I lost interest.
I have that cam in the motor I just fired up 2 days ago. It is a bigger cam then the one in my Cuda, and idles like a stock cam. My other cam is a Crane S-264-NC .434 lift, 264 adv dur, and 222 at .050. and it doesn't like to idle below about 1,000 rpm.

charlie do you like this cam? this would be for the stroker big cubes slant, would you ecommend it for that? bidding is legally binding and I consider myself obbligated and all, but bright side is that I made a gentlemen arrangement with the seller.

The way this cam idles, I think it might be too mild, for a race car or big cube street car. I won't know how it runs untill, hopefully Sat night. Going to try and get to a test and tune. If I am not ready, it will be the following weekend at the slant six race in Valdosta Ga.

You can look at my thread in the slixers gallery, for info on the car.

Just a short swim in this thread.....
I've recently got my Slant running, and I really like the way it sounds. It's a Schneider "re-grind" 264 dur, .480 lift, 224 @ .050.
My Clevite timing chain was retarded, so I just eyeballed it and advanced it 1 tooth.  I lucked out.
I just have a 1-bbl. with stock Ex. manifold/ 2.76 gear-set. And I ain't lying, it will smoke both tires at the crack of the throttle. Very, very punch right out of the hole. It idles like a SBC with a 272 Comp Cam. I am more than happy with the cam, I'd like to see someone put this cam in a race slant.......I bet it gives good numbers for the size.
My .02....
